Rabat, May 23, 2008 -- Poverty and illiteracy are major problems for people living in the Kingdom of Morocco. The slow pace of progress towards democratization and reforms is reducing objectives in the field of education. Inequality of class has been a major factor that has exacerbated illiteracy, poor health and high maternal mortality rates.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid who's long been an advocate of improving the quality of education for his country's school children, is clearly passionate and wishes to ensure that education is available to every citizen in every remote corner of the kingdom.
The hard-working prince, who is committed to improving access to education for all, doesn't just talk about these issues, he deals with them on a daily basis.
Crown Prince Moulay Rachid has focused on empowering students by committing resources, making the contributions to schools, libraries and book fairs, and highlighting the need for quality education.
Crown Prince Moulay Rachid also outlined many opportunities available including focus on national dialogue as the means of developing education and cross-border partnerships, that engage young people, investments in growth and opportunity projects that create new dialogue and professional exchanges on common concerns.
Earlier this year, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid inaugurated the International Book Fair in Casablanca, at the end of last year the first higher cinema school in Marrakech, while continuing his initiatives, including the Royal Golf Academy for unprivileged children and new project the Sailing school for all.
Crown Prince Moulay Rachid's groundbreaking work with education promotes a strong approach to combating poverty and promoting opportunity that provide integration, strength and support to vulnerable citizens.
