CANNES, France, May 27 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid in his capacity as the President of the Foundation of Marrakech International Film Festival, has once again created the remarkable opportunity for the eight-members group, to get together with the world’s biggest distributors and producers of film at the 60th Cannes Film Festival in the spectacular French Riviera.

Khemiss Sidi Yahia-Morocco, May 22, 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid who epitomizes a strong, gracious style of leadership, lead thousands of Moroccans in the funeral procession to pay their final respects to the Moroccan human rights activist Driss Benzekri.

His Royal Highness presence and leadership stressed the indissoluble links uniting security, development and human rights as the three pillars of the prince’s advocacy, without any of these world peace will not be accomplished.

Rabar, May 22, 2007 - HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presided over the funeral of human rights activist Driss Benzekri.

Benzekri died a day earlier in the capital, Rabat, of complications from stomach cancer. He was 57.

In 2005, Benzekri was voted the most popular Moroccan of the year.

Fes, May 17-18, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the heir to the Moroccan throne, was looking characteristically elegant as he welcomed the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdelaziz of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabian King Abdallah Ibn Abdelaziz arrived in Fes, Thursday night for a two- day official visit.

Prince Moulay Rachid - Master of diplomacy - who is recognized for his steadfast commitment to build international relations – has networked with the Saudi Arabian King a couple of times in the past few months in Saudi Arabia.

His Royal Highness who set clear approach advocating the wisdom and moderation to reach a lasting peace in the Middle East and worldwide, continues on Friday (May 18, 2007) to engage in efforts to consolidate security and stability, by ensuring both brotherly countries play an enhanced role in tackling quarrels and tensions worldwide.

After the colorful welcoming ceremony, His Royal Highness joined King Abdallah Ibn Abdelaziz for the formal ceremony of signing several political, Islamic, tourism and economic accords between Moroccan and Saudi governments.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid expresses deep pride in the Royal Armed Forces

Rabat, May 14, 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid reaffirmed Monday his persisted effective support to the Royal Armed Forces, as he hosted a reception to celebrate the 51st jubilee of Royal Armed Forces birth.
The 36-year-old prince, who has a hands-on role in Moroccan Royal Armed Forces, also paid tribute to the officers, NCOs and soldiers’ leadership for their bravery and courageous determination to defend the integrity of Moroccan territory and to contribute in humanitarian assignments.
Prince Moulay Rachid looked dashing in full military regalia - a formal Moroccan naval uniform - was visibly moved by the ovation of guests and beamed with pride as he arrived for the occasion.
The former King of Morocco, Mohammed V, created the Royal Armed Forces on May 14th 1956.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid widens the virtues of scouting


Rabat, April 29 2007 - Under the Presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Moroccan National Federation of Scouting organized on April 27-29 2007, a National forum on Communication.
Growing up, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid was an active Boy Scout and in April 1997 he was named the President of the Moroccan National Federation of Scouting.

His Royal Highness’ active involvement has encouraged and supported Moroccan and international youth to participate in regional and international scouting events.

With a long history of advocating for the rights of girls and boys, His Royal Highness outlines new methods of education for the young people with the concept of scouting as a school of good citizenship.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid pushes for speedy realization of military housing units


Rabat, April 28, 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the heir to the Moroccan throne, on Saturday highlighted the call for concrete results in building military housing units for the Royal Army Forces.

His Royal Highness who is stanch on a key initiative to improve the standard of living and increase housing space of all military’s members, encouraged the development of the project that is part of the Government of Morocco's initiative to produce 80.000 new social, community and private housing units for the Royal Army Forces.

The Prince, who met with governmental officers in Royal Palace in Rabat, was briefed on the housing package's developments, stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to achieve the speedy realization of military housing units and to secure necessary funds to meet its economic and social objectives.

His Royal Highness was promoted with the rank of Colonel of the Royal Moroccan Navy on July of 1994 and to the rank of brigadier general on July 2000.
