HRH Prince Moulay Rachid supports World's peace

Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, March 28-29, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the heir to the Moroccan Throne, has lead the Moroccan delegation in the 19th Arab Summit in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

His Royal Highness' valuable leadership and support for addressing the unity of the Arab and Muslim nations, archives endeavor to foster diplomatic efforts to promote peace worldwide.
In view of that, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid at the first closed-door session of Arab Summit on Wednesday, discussed at the round table with the other Arab leaders, a variety of political, economic and social issues that aimed at improving the conditions in the Arab world in general.

Of course, tackling the Arab-Israeli conflict, the developments in Lebanon and Iraq and clearing the Middle East from weapons of mass destruction (WMD) were key political issues on the agenda.

King of Hearts - HRH Prince Moulay Rachid pins hope on the Road of Heart


Casablanca, March 17, 2007 – Under the Presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, Royal Moroccan Motorsport Federation organized 14th edition of Maroc Classic Rally under the motto “The Road of Heart”.

The Maroc Classic Rally starts from Casablanca on Saturday March 17 2007, takes over the road that is the heart and soul of Moroccan cities of Afourer, Erfoud, Ouarzazate and Agadir and it ends the following Saturday March 28 2007 in Marrakech with glittering gala dinner and prize giving ceremony.

Rabat, March 13, 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid inquired on the development project of new suburb Tamesna in Rabat - Morocco.

Popular royal, who is acknowledged for his strong leadership of development of Morocco, supports and emphasizes the need for projects supporting the higher standard of living for Moroccan people.

With His Royal Highness support, this project serves as an inspiration for urban development in cities in the region and will be undertaken by the government and private companies from Morocco, Spain, France, Portugal, Malaysia, Qatar and Libya.

The project is expected to cost 22.3 billion dirhams, will offer housing for 250,000 inhabitants over a 4,000-hectare area, as well includes the building of schools, health centres, a hospital, mosques, industrial zones and a university.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid at the 8th high-level Morocco-Spain summit


Rabat, March 6, 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid received with a glowing welcome Prime Minister of Spain Luis Rodriguez Zapatero in Royal Palace in Rabat.

After the welcoming ceremony, His Royal Highness accompanied by Mr. Zapatero reviewed the guard of honor.

Rabat, February 22, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid paid his last respects to lifetime Royal and Moroccan servant, Mohamed Aouad.

Cannes - France, February 14, 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the heir to Moroccan throne, arrived today on state visit to France to raise the level of collective commitment to peace and security issues, good governance and economic, social and political development of the African continent.

His Royal Highness will participate in the 24th Franco-African summit that is taking place at Cannes, on the French Mediterranean coast, from 14 to 16 February 2007. Casablanca, February 8, 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco has awarded winners of Morocco Book Award of 2006 in the ceremony held on the sidelines of the inauguration of 13th edition of the Casablanca International Book Fair.

His Royal Highness, in the first ever Moroccan’s richest literary award, handed over the prizes offered in several categories, including "literary creation", "literary and artistic studies", and "translation".

The popular royal, who is an advocate of youth empowerment, brightly conveys the profundity of this event as a virtue to develop works of the young creators as the event features at least 60 young Moroccan writers.

His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid

His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid was born on June 20, 1970 in Rabat, Morocco as the youngest son of late King Hassan II. He is second in line to the Alaouite throne.
His Royal Highness completed bilingual primary and secondary education in the Royal College in Rabat with obtaining the Baccalauréat in June 1989.

His Royal Highness continued brilliant Higher Studies in Law at Mohammed V University in Rabat earning several certificates and diplomas. In June 1991, Prince received DEUG (Diplôme des Etudes Universitaires Générales). In May 1993, Prince Moulay Rachid successfully obtained his Law degree (Licence en les droits) Masters in Public Law, simultaneously with the Diploma in Law. The thesis was concentrated on the Bosnia question, which he presented on June 29, 1995.


In order to complete his training, in November 1993 Prince underwent a United Nations training course in New York, within the framework of the preparation for a Doctorate in Law. In June 1996 Prince Moulay Rachid made outstanding written and oral tests that earned him the 2nd certificate of Higher Studies with mastering in International Relations. On May 18, 2001, His Royal Highness presented his doctorate thesis on the Organization of Islamic Conference at the University Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV in France, which merited a specific mention for the quality of his work.


In July 1994, Prince Moulay Rachid was promoted with the rank of Colonel of the Royal Moroccan Navy and in July 2000 with the rank of brigadier general.
Prince Moulay Rachid has been interested in cultural, social and sporting activities. For this reason, since April 1997, he has been president of the National Federation of Moroccan Scouting. Prince is also a president of the Moroccan Royal Federation of Hunting. In 2000 under the brave leadership of Prince Moulay Rachid was founded Hassan 2 golf Trophy Association, which is hosting one of the most highly regarded Hassan 2 Gofl Trophy. In 2001 Prince Moulay Rachid initiated Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation (MIFFF) that has opened doors for a breath of fresh air in Morocco – Marrakech International Film Festival.


Prince Moualy Rachid is also honorary president of Royal Moroccan Yachting Federation, Royal Moroccan Skiing and Mountaineering Federation, Moroccan Environmental Protection Association, Moroccan - Far East Association, Spanish Social Service Association, Maghreb Association for Research and the Fight Against AIDS and Moroccan Association of Law Students in France.


Since his early youth, Prince Moulay Rachid built the diplomatic relations and promoted the peace all over the world. At age of 6, Prince accompanied his father King Hassan II on official visit to France and at age of 11, His Royal Highness presided ceremony "Commandant Khattabi" in San Pernando (Cadiz) in Spain. Prince Moulay Rachid is widely admired for his role in maintaining official diplomatic ties that has earned him the reputation for his terrific ambassadorial delegation that contributed the great deal to the development and progress of Morocco.


His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid is an acknowledged pioneer of cross-cultural exchange and his leadership for dialog among civilizations. His Royal Highness also oversees the work of numerous sport organizations.
