Ouirgane, May 12, 2008 - His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid presided over the presentation ceremony of the development plan for the Yacoub El Mansour dam in the rural community of Ouirgane.During his visit, His Royal Highness was briefed on the plan to provide the local community with drinking water.
His Royal Highness called for concerted efforts and synchronized action that would meet the requirements and solve once and for all the problem of acute water shortage in the affected region.
His Royal Highness, who initiated The King Hassan II Great World Water Prize and introduced at the 3rd World Water Forum in Japan, highlights expanding the coverage of the drinking water network, including in the rural areas to reduce the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water.
His Royal Highness' priorities are to boost the protection and improve the supply of clean drinking water in parts of the rural areas where unhealthy water causes sufferings and heartbreak.
