HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid and King of Saudi Arabia confirm good bilateral relations


Mecca-Saudi Arabia, September 25, 2008 – The fourth day of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid Saudi’s visit began with His meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

During the talks, the two leaders confirmed good bilateral relations and underlined idle possibilities for the strengthening of the two countries' economic ties.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, who pays a lot of attention to the development of the two countries' relations, had made in the past efforts in many areas, including the prospects of bilateral cooperation in science and technology.

In connection to ME crisis, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid affirmed that the problem of conflict resolution is essential not only for the region but for the whole world, because the affluence of security largely depends on the situation in this region.

HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid lifts spirits and raises confidence of children returning to classroom

Rabat, September 4, 2008 -- With the start of a new school year, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid sent a cable of greetings along with his best wishes of outstanding achievements, and most exciting and rewarding era at school to all students.

As part of His campaign for giving children and youth an active role in communities across Morocco, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid reiterated His call on all level of governments to engage in an alliance to keep less fortunate children in school.

In addition, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid highlighted importance to work to identify out-of-school children and carry out public awareness campaigns on education, as child poverty, lack of rural livelihoods and communications, and barriers to girls’ education are obstacles to Morocco’s hope to general primary education and gender equality.

Marrakech July 28, 2008 -- Making an important contribution to building capacity in promoting the development and structuring of the cinematographic and audiovisual industries, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid continues to promote creativity, innovation and talent with His sponsorship of the MEDA Films Development (MFD) seminar series, which are being held from July 28th to August 4th in Marrakech.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid’s objective is to strengthen the structure and infrastructure of audiovisual industries in Mediterranean countries and promote the development of the Moroccan films.

This session will focus specifically on administrative, legal, financial and tax impact in feature-film production. All participants will again meet new international experts as Egyptian Yousri Nasrallah, Pauline Dairou and Krishna Levy (France).

The MEDA Films Development Programs were launched in 2006 during the Marrakech International Film Festival brought every year by Crown Prince Moulay Rachid.

Programs are designed to provide a platform for exchanging experiences and know-how, encourage wide dissemination of audiovisual works in North and South and also support the development of audiovisual and cinema. Training programs are conducted in three sessions per year, lasting one week each.

HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid returns to Bastille Day parade

Paris, July 14 2008 – France marked its National Day on Monday in Champs Elysées in Paris in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid.

In 1999, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid and his dearly loved father King Hassan II were guests of honor with the presence of 500 Moroccan Royal Guard officers at the head of the big parade. It was just the second time non-French troops have been invited to march in the City of Light's.

This year, many leaders from Europe, Africa and the Middle East, who were already in Paris for the establishment of the Union of the Mediterranean, attended the traditional military parade.

Unlike the previous years, the air parade includes military planes from over seven European states like Belgium, Germany, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Hungary. The initiative is another testimony that European member states cooperate in peace keeping missions.

As part of France's Bastille Day celebrations today, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid also attended the traditional garden party at the French High Commissioner's residence.

Paris, July 13, 2008 – Investing efforts into actively building Mediteerean region, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid gave full support to the Union for the Mediterranean at the founding summit in Paris.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid strongly believes that the union is like-minded with his foreign-policy aims and provides increased access to prosperity for people in Morocco.

During the summit, six cooperation projects as well as the principles of how the Union for the Mediterranean would actually function were approved.

Paris, July 13, 2008 – Taking opportunity to step up diplomacy, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid urged to use dialog to bring peace at the founding Summit of the Union for the Mediterranean in Paris.

Leaders from 43 nations met later Sunday at the inaugural of the Paris Summit at the Grand Palais on Paris' Champs Elysees in Paris, marking the birth of Union for the Mediterranean. The Grand Palais a gigantic glass and steel exhibition hall was built for the 1900 World's Fair.

The one-day summit is also providing a venue for Crown Prince Moulay Rachid to meet other leaders from EURO – MED countries to discuss and push forward the development of the strategic partnerships.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid presented himself as a perfect classy gentleman when he offered Isabel de Herédia - “the Queen of Portugal” - his hand and lead her off in promenade to the Cathedral, since her husband Duarte Pio, Duke of Braganza – godfather of the bride - gave away Duchess of Cadaval at the wedding.

Education, training and qualifications

After completing his primary and secondary educations in Royal College in Rabat, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid done his academic education at Mohamed V University. He holds the Honors degree Bachelor of Laws with major in Legal, Economics and Social affairs and Master of Laws in Political Sciences and International Relations.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid next attended the University Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV in France, and there completed a Doctoral degree. His PhD’s thesis presented philosophy on the Organization of Islamic Conference.

Rabat, June 14, 2008 -- His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid was awarded on Saturday the CAA Super Grand Prix Award and medal in recognition of his leading role and meaningful action that he carries out through the promotion of the sport image and the social and moral values of the sport.

Rabat, June 1, 2008 -- Encouraging Scouts to develop media and public relations skills, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, President of National Federation of Moroccan Scouting (NFMS), unveiled the Scout diploma for media and public relations and communication, a major progress to facilitate the development and empowerment of young people.

The educational project is held from June 1st to 13th in cooperation with Al-Ahram Regional Institute for the press and the Arab Scouts Organization.
