Evora, Portugal, June 21, 2008 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid took time off from celebration of his 38th birthday to attend the wedding celebrations of Prince Charles-Philippe d'Orleans, Duke of Anjou, and Diana Alvares Pereira de Melo, 11th Duchess of Cadaval at the Cathedral of Evora, Portugal, on June 21st 2008.
Crown Prince Moulay Rachid presented himself as a perfect classy gentleman when he offered Isabel de Herédia - “the Queen of Portugal” - his hand and lead her off in promenade to the Cathedral, since her husband Duarte Pio, Duke of Braganza – godfather of the bride - gave away Duchess of Cadaval at the wedding.
Walking the talk, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid – a forward-thinking leader for interfaith harmony - made a powerful statement honoring the Christian faith as he dressed in the traditional Muslim dress for the Christian religious ceremony as is customary for Muslim ceremony in a Mosque.
After the religious ceremony at the Cathedral of Evora, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid greeted Infanta Pilar of Spain with a warm smile as they pose for the photographers before heading to lunch served at the Cadaval Palace Cinco Quinas.
The lunch was a great opportunity for Crown Prince Moulay Rachid spent some time catching up with his royal and noble friends, including Béatrice Pasquier de Franclieu, mother of Prince Charles-Philippe d'Orleans.
