HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid pays poignant eulogy to signatory of Independence Manifesto

Casablanca, July 19, 2008 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid led a funeral procession and moving tribute on Saturday for Hachmi Filali at the Al-Ghofrane cemetery in Casablanca.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid and a number of officials have joined hundreds of others at the funeral of former advisor to HM the King Hassan II and one of the signatories of the Independence Manifesto, who died on Friday at age of 96.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid was deeply saddened by Filali’s death and was there to pay his respects and spend some time with Filali's family.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid expressed his indebtedness to Mr. Filali for his role in ending foreign occupation and his life-long dedication to the development of the Kingdom, adding Morocco has lost one of its finest statesman and true soldier.
