HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid lifts spirits and raises confidence of children returning to classroom
Rabat, September 4, 2008 -- With the start of a new school year, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid sent a cable of greetings along with his best wishes of outstanding achievements, and most exciting and rewarding era at school to all students.
Rabat, September 4, 2008 -- With the start of a new school year, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid sent a cable of greetings along with his best wishes of outstanding achievements, and most exciting and rewarding era at school to all students.
As part of His campaign for giving children and youth an active role in communities across Morocco, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid reiterated His call on all level of governments to engage in an alliance to keep less fortunate children in school.
In addition, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid highlighted importance to work to identify out-of-school children and carry out public awareness campaigns on education, as child poverty, lack of rural livelihoods and communications, and barriers to girls’ education are obstacles to Morocco’s hope to general primary education and gender equality.
In a related initiative, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid helped distribute a number of backpacks filled with school supplies and T-shirts of colors of their choice for children living in extreme poverty in several municipalities. As a result, children from local communities were able to return to school and had their first day at school exciting, enjoyable and hassle free.
On several occasions Crown Prince Moulay Rachid has emphasized the importance of continual review of educational opportunities and reaffirmed the crucial importance of recognizing the rights of youth for any development agenda to work.
As a President of the Moroccan National Federation of Scouting, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid also encourages children and youth to voice their opinions about the world they live in, as He continues working to get young people involved in identifying their own preferred needs.
