Agadir – Morocco, January 5, 2008 – The end of December 2007 saw the Agadir coastline dotted with the white sails of ships racing for the Agadir Statutory Regatta.
The annual race, sponsored by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, takes place annually in December as the official close to the Moroccan yachting season.
The event began on December 29th, 2007, with a full day of sailing racing festivities and spectacular sight of yachts with participation of 26 sportsmen representing six Moroccan clubs.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid stressed that the regatta is great opportunity of the celebration of the ocean and spectacular coastlines sight, while paving the way with days of competitions between yachtsmen, followed by sailing team friendship onshore.
As an Honorary President of the Royal Moroccan Yachting Federation, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid envisions a year-round sailing racing programs, offering nautical products, services and initiatives for yachting and sailing in particular. Adding, rich schedules of sailing and fishing traditions combined to spectacular regattas with modern yachting.
