Crown Prince Moulay Rachid seeks new possibilities, not yet applied, of expanding scales of cooperation with Chile



Qatar, April 2, 2009 -- His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid and President of the Republic of Chile Michelle Bachelet held Tuesday (March 31st, 2009) a tête-à-tête meeting on the sidelines of the 2nd Summit of the Arab and South American States in Doha.

The two leaders of state discussed the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, cultural and educational spheres, as well as exchanged views on current international issues.

In this context, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid reminded that the stepping up of the work of Morocco-Chilean intergovernmental joint commission, presentations of economic potential of Morocco and Chile, holding business forums, expositions and other events are essential.

In particular, according to Crown Prince Moulay Rachid joint commission can connect in seeking and finding new possibilities and crucial ways not yet applied in expanding the scales of cooperation and developing mutual beneficial projects.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid also expressed confidence that this meeting will kick off many mutually valuable issues that will upgrade the Morocco-Chilean relations to a new level.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid and President of Argentina discuss bilateral cooperation

Qatar, April 2, 2009 -- His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid and President of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner held Tuesday (March 31st, 2009) one-on-one talks on the sidelines of the 2nd Summit of the Arab and South American States held in Doha.

During the meeting Crown Prince Moulay Rachid raised the question of developing cooperation between Morocco and Argentina.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid noted at the talks that the level of economic cooperation does not entirely reflect the opportunities and potentials of both countries.

By emerging direct affiliation ties between commerce circles of Morocco and Argentina, expanding investment cooperation, subsequently the trade and economic indicators can be raised several times, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid stressed.

Strongly committed to working towards full participation of Morocco in political, economic and social life, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid opined that trusting exchange of views and the intensive political dialogue can carry on at all levels and will contribute to building up the close ties between Morocco and Argentina and serve the interests of peace, stability and progress in both regions.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid and Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner also separately discussed their positions with regard to actions intended to combat the global financial crisis.

HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid leads Morocco’s delegation to the Arab Summit



Qatar, April 1, 2009 - Morocco’s Heir His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid lead Morocco’s delegation to the Arab Summit at the Qatar’s capital Doha on Monday March 30, 2009.

In this context, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid focused in His participation on enhancing Morocco-Arab relations, pointing out to the Arab reconciliation and the importance of the Arab unity.

H.H. the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Ben Khalifa Al-Thani welcomed Crown Prince Moulay Rachid and other Arab leaders saying "at a time that requires your opinion and your decision, at a time when the nation awaits the prudence of your reason and wisdom and hopes for reassurance that restores some faith during these circumstances that are fraught with turmoil and anxiety."

The issues that dominated the agenda were the reconciliation among Arab leaders after a turbulent period of conflicts and rivalry linked to the rising power of Iran, Palestinian unity and peace talks with Israel.

The Crown Prince Moulay Rachid together with other leaders at the Arab summit also reiterated support for an Arab peace initiative for a land-for-peace deal with Israel that sees the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The Arab leaders participating in the 21st Arab summit concluded meeting noting: We, the Arab leaders meeting at the 21st Arab Summit in Doha, are committed to strengthen Arab solidarity and preserve Arab values, security of Arab countries and legitimate rights of Arab states to defend their national independence and resources.

The summit's opening session was also attended by Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, representatives of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), the Commission of the African Union (AU) and the Arab Inter-parliamentary Union (AIPU).

Qatar, March 31, 2009 – Marching towards strengthening Arab standing on the regional and on international forums, Morocco’s Heir His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid has traveled to Doha, Qatar on Sunday to lead the Kingdom's delegation to participate in the 21st Arab Summit, held in Qatari capital Doha on Monday (March 30, 2009).

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid is also leading the Morocco’s delegations in the 2nd South American-Arab Summit on Tuesday March 31, 2009.

In addition, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid is also expected to hold several bilateral meetings.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid was received by Qatari Minister of State Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Atiyyah, Moroccan Ambassador to Qatar and other senior officials at the Doha International Airport.
