London, April 26, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the heir to the Moroccan throne, has started the state visit to United Kingdom, to continue his indefatigable dedication to promote global peace through interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural understanding.
His Royal Highness, a key leader regionally and globally, in an effort to endorse a mutual spirit of acceptance and a genuine understanding, inaugurated today an exhibition under the mane "Sacred - Discover what we share". Sacred - Discover what we share, presents some of the world’s earliest surviving, most important and beautiful religious texts from the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths.
In this spirit, His Royal Highness highlighted the imminent need to continue to foster interfaith and intercultural dialogue that will provide a platform for education and information exchange to share the differences and similarities in cultures and religions. His Royal Highness’ massive public advocacy campaigns emphasize that these interfaith efforts must focus on identifying and promoting a greater understanding of the common values of our religions.
His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, a recognized leader around the globe, has worked for several years to create a global movement that unites universe, has been instrumental in building bridges and delineating number of suggestions; Prince Moulay Rachid challenges each one and calls on everybody to build bridges of friendship across cultures to unite the global communities.
His Royal Highness’ leadership endeavors to promote respect and mutual understanding among all faiths and cultures and to achieve world peace in the foreseeable future.
As the leading international advocate of interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural understanding, His Royal Highness, frequently participates in interfaith-intercultural gatherings, campaigns actively for a variety of organizations in efforts to promote religious tolerance and coexistence and many of Prince Moulay Rachid's programs focus on bridging the cultural divide between Muslims and West.
His Royal Highness’ groundbreaking work in a bid to step up efforts to promote cross-cultural understanding, promotes a strong globally centered approach in an effort that spells out the true spirit of Islam and has made to improve cross-cultural understanding and global awareness.
Sacred: discover what we share marks the first time that texts from these three faiths will have been displayed and explored together, side by side. Exquisite and rare examples of Jewish, Christian and Muslim sacred texts from the Library’s collections - plus loans including a Dead Sea Scroll - are presented in a unique and compelling modern context. It opens on 27 April and will run to 23 September 2007. The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and one of the World’s greatest libraries. Set up in 1973, with galleries formerly in the British Museum building, it moved to its spectacular flagship new home at St Pancras in Central London in 1997.
